A fun day of #physics matches at the Canadian Young Physicists Tournament this weekend. It was great to see the hard work of students, teachers, volunteers, @uoftphysics and the @STEM_Fellowship pay off. Looking forward to watching the @vpci team compete! #CaYPT#iteachphysics
@engineers_feed 😁 my son did this experiment in a IYPT competition. It was pretty fun! There are youtube videos which record hundreds of metronome synchronizing. Fun to watch.
If you tackled the past IYPT question we posted yesterday, take a look at this poster for the full solutions! A video with the explained solution can also be found here: https://t.co/tf36qZyoqr

The CaYPT saw many great teams clash in fun & thought provoking challenges. We wanted to highlight past winners of the CaYPT. In 2017, J. Chen, V. He, P. Prochazka, T. Yu, R. Zhu, & G. Mo won and went on to represent Canada at that year’s IYPT!

Dr Alistair Douglas and Jordyn Henning (UIV, Clarke) were part of the South African team who participated in the Internatioanl Young Physicists Tournament in Poland. #LuxVitaCaritas
CALLING ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! Are you interested in physics? Check out our Canadian Young Physicists’ Tournament! A competition where teams of students are challenged with answering physics questions and presenting their answers to judges! Learn more: https://t.co/sIPWMfNzm8
@ChatPhysics Competitions like @iypt can have virtues beyond the physics pedagogy itself, i.e., international benchmarking, creating students with a global perspective #chatphysics
But the biases have to be squeezed out of them as with everywhere else.
There is a GOLD MINE of great ideas for projects on the IYPT archive page - for me, the only issue is (again) how much time do I (or my students) have to devote to attempting one of these? https://t.co/G7wN2YOgYQ #iteachphysics
A group of Middle School students did an amazing job in the Swiss Young Naturalists Tournament at ETH in Zurich over the weekend. They presented thoughtful solutions to the scientific problems assigned with 4 of our teams in the top 10 - congratulations! #SYNT#youngscientists
