If youβre a brand running UGC, donβt just tell creators to βuse stronger visual hooks.β
Build the system for them:
> Add proven visual hooks directly into every brief and script
> Provide them with $10-15 a week in visual hook prop credits
> Send examples your team finds while scrolling
> Track every visual hook that breaks 10K views
> Share those winners across the entire creator team
> Double down on breakout hooks across new scripts, angles, and creators
> Publicly hype creators when they bring you something new that works
Your creators shouldnβt have to guess what earns attention.
Give them the playbook, reward great execution, and make winning variables impossible to miss.
Two years ago, EVO was making $0.
I had $30K/month coming in from fitness coaching. Stable. Comfortable. The kind of income people tell you not to walk away from.
So I called every client and fired them.
Everyone thought Iβd lost it.
Before EVO existed, I got a $1,500 gig from an app called Cal AI.
Six posts.
It was the most money Iβd ever made from content at the time.
But instead of taking the check and moving on, I got in the room, started recruiting creators, and turned my own videos into a system for driving downloads.
That one gig planted the idea for EVO.
I had no idea I was building a company.
I just kept following the thread.
I brought my brothers in. We bet everything on it. None of us really knew what we were building.
We didnβt even know what UGC meant.
We just knew we had to move fast.
No backup plan.
Fast forward to today:
20 people.
All my brothers are executives.
Weβre working with apps and tech companies I never imagined Iβd even be in the room with.
I gave up $30K/month for $0.
Everyone told me it was a mistake.
Best decision I ever made.
Never do this when managing a UGC campaign.
If youβre managing 10+ creators at once, never have separate 1-on-1 DMs with every creator.
Instead, create one community chat with all of your creators.
Hereβs why:
1. Creators can share wins
If someone gets a 10K, 100K, or 1M view video, they can share it with the group. Other creators can see whatβs working and learn from it.
2. Your training goes further
If you give one creator feedback on their hook, lighting, angle, editing, or anything else, other creators who have the same issue can learn from that feedback too.
Youβre solving multiple problems with one action.
3. It saves your bandwidth
Managing 20, 40, or 60 creators through individual conversations will eat up your time without necessarily producing better results.
A community chat allows you to communicate once and have everyone benefit.
4. Build a sense of community
Create leaderboards, ranks, milestones, and monthly rewards for top performers.
The goal is to make creators feel like theyβre part of something bigger than just a campaign.
When creators build relationships with each other, celebrate each otherβs wins, and compete together, they become more invested in the brand.
If youβre running a UGC campaign, donβt just manage creators.
Build a community around them.
