Funding illegal Israeli settlements is not charitable activity. It is extremist activity.
Working with Israeli human researchers, I found at least 32 UK charities who have sent £28 million to settlements in recent years.
There’s a likely taxpayer subsidy of at least £5 million
Together with almost 140 fellow Labour MPs, I have written to the Foreign Secretary to call for a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements. Our group includes every Labour select committee chair.
It’s time to be clear that settlements have no viable economic future

Police say China is among the adversary nations intensifying life-threatening operations in the UK.
A reminder that China is STILL not in the Enhanced Tier of the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme. 🙃

‼️ WE DID IT ‼️
The law is going to CHANGE to address #Uyghur slavery in 🇬🇧 renewables.
A HUGE deal. Happy, but emotional thinking about @rahimamahmut and so many others in the #Uyghur community who have to fight so hard for any recognition of their people's suffering.
1/6 First responders should never be a target. Yet today @UNOCHA supported @PalestineRCS and Civil Defense to retrieve colleagues from a mass grave in #Rafah#Gaza that was marked with the emergency light from one of their crushed ambulances.
15 emergency & aid workers in Gaza – from @PalestineRCS, Palestinian Civil Defense and UN - were found buried by their wrecked & well-marked vehicles. Our condolences to their families. They were killed by Israeli forces while trying to save lives. We demand answers & justice.
Today's UN report, which concludes that Israel has systematically used sexual, reproductive and other gender-based violence against Palestinians since October 2023, must prompt the international community to take urgent action to protect the rights of Palestinian women and address gendered crimes being committed against women and men. https://t.co/ySAQCm8wbw
This shit makes my blood boil. A program to provide scholarships to students from Myanmar who have had their education disrupted because of a coup. Canceled because the laziest people in the world found it in their control-f for “DEI” - not only cruel but geopolitical malpractice
Myanmar’s ruling military junta has begun initial steps to draft women for active military service, residents said, showing the military’s desperation to replenish its ranks amid a series of battlefield defeats and desertions in the civil war. https://t.co/mSvT0ve7Rb

Xmas Eve was observed inside a cave in Loikaw this year, a reminder of the ongoing airstrikes by the SAC. It brings back memories of Xmas Eve, Dec 24, 2021, when a humanitarian convoy was brutally massacred in Karenni State & airstrikes in Lay Kay Kaw on Xmas Day that same year.
Let’s talk about this.
Having spoken to several members of the press corps, here’s what happened:
1️⃣ When Starmer raised points of disagreement, the British press were *roughly* bundled out of the room by 🇨🇳security.
2️⃣ No complaints were raised by the UK (political) delegation.
3️⃣ Veteran journalists present said they couldn’t think of a precedent. The entire corps being manhandled by foreign representatives in an official diplomatic setting, but many also surprised and (understandably) disappointed that it all happened without complaint from the PM’s delegation.
None of the press present seem to want to make a fuss. But it’s really worrying that nothing has been said about this during or after.
🇨🇳 diplomacy is increasingly assertive, and sending a signal that our journalists can be treated like this without any consequences will increase the likelihood of it happening again.
OUT NOW:
Our most important report yet..
It exposes how Imagination Technologies, Britain's 2nd biggest semiconductor company, which designs chips for AI, has siphoned off core assets to China.
This is BIG.

this is how the ground forces of Min Aung Hlaing are in. Even if Min Aung Hlaing was given life lines by neighboring countries, it just extending his time a little more, but wil not being victory for him. Low morale and corruption still bring them down.
Eventually, MAL wil fall.
⚠️ Chinese government interference in planning process for new embassy in @TowerHamletsNow.
@AngelaRayner should take note.
A deeper dive into @LOS_Fisher story. Here's the upshot.
1⃣ Last time the Chinese Embassy applied for planning permission, they had no letters in support.
2⃣ This time they have well over 200. But who are these respondents?
3⃣ Analysis of the letters show: 7 letters from State Owned Enterprises, 4 from other Chinese companies, 3 from Overseas Chinese organisations, including those linked to the United Front Work Department, plus:
4⃣ 32 identical responses.
5⃣ 72 handwritten "letters" in support collected at an Embassy organised event.
It's not legit, friends.
The front of the queue for the NSL47 sentencing. These people, all dressed in black, have been dubbed the “queuing gang”, allegedly paid to take up the few public seats available in court. All refused to answer my questions on why they’re there
As an activist, I have come to know many human rights defenders currently in America under the Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) policy or with Temporary Protected Status (TPS). (1/x)
This is the kind of horror people have to endure in junta-controlled areas of Myanmar.
This is why it is so crucial the resistance sustains its momentum and liberates more territory so people can be free of the terror of this regime https://t.co/yDZPHto9ZX
Myanmar now ties China as the world's worst environment for internet freedom according to #FreedomOnTheNet 2024—the first time China has shared the title with another country in 10 years.
Myanmar's decline reflects military authorities' brutal crackdown on dissent, both on and offline, since seizing power in 2021.
