@WazzupDoc7@WES_WorldOrder 17% is gross overrepresentation for a ‘minority’ group. Black Americans aren’t even 17% of the US population for comparison. Instrumental is a good word
@NickStillHere They've limited colorism down to just desirability poitics. Colorism affects policing, incarceration and much more, but all they talk about is whose supposedly not interested in them.
@fplblackbox_az Because the other perceived choices were Epstein coverups or Covid party hypocrites. We would do better combatting his rhetoric rather than shaming those seduced by it
That is an awesome history lesson . We must never forget how our Haitian family defeated imperialism and we must take inspiration and pride from that wonderful piece of history
We can’t keep asking the world to respect Jamaican culture while we reduce it to dancehall and sports. Our culture is d spirituality of Kumina & Rastafarianism, Maroon traditions, folklore, Revival, Jonkonnu, Nine Night, Accompong Festivals, Nyabinghi gatherings, grand market nights.. JCDC FESTIVAL 😂… stop letting people reduce our culture, dem nuh know we like dat.
@xaniezaix -The Black male brute myth
-Castration as a method of control/terror (men were castrated before lynching and even today the police target black men and do the same)
-Domestic violence
-Sexualization and adultification of Black boys that prevents dealing with with sexual assault
Wild to say this when the most recent indictment of a BLM leader was this past December. Tashella Dickerson, who ran BLM-OKC, was charged with embezzling $3.15 million for personal vacations and properties. Patrice Cullors bought a $6 million mansion in LA and $8 million mansion in Canada with BLM money and gave massive contracts worth hundreds of thousands to people in her personal network.
This was on the heels of at least 5 Black men (and 1 Palestinian-American man) connected to the Ferguson protests who died or were killed under curious circumstances (including 2 who were found shot inside of burning cars). Those 6 men were Deandre Joshua, Darren Seals, MarShawn McCarrel, Edward Crawford, Jr., Danye Jones, and Bassem Masri.
So while queer Black intersectionalist women co-opted a movement about lethal state violence targeting Black men, embezzled millions of dollars from that movement, and was largely hostile to the Black men in these spaces (repeating much of the same rhetoric being said in this video), the “conversations that need to be had” are the same old Black Patriarchy myths.
When are Black intersectionalists going to take accountability for co-opting BLM and selling out Black people for more recognition from—and assimilation with—white liberal and corporate America?
