@j_kimbril@Austen That was definitely it. It felt like it was meant to be a replacement for TLs when it should have been an opportunity to reinforce what you've learned and help others and maybe gain some soft skills in the process. It should also be opt-in, imho
@j_kimbril@Austen I concur that a type of Mentor program could exist in some capacity, something where you sign up to be a mentor and/or to receive mentorship. I agree that students shouldn't be forced into it, but being able to show recruiters that you have mentorship exp could be really valuable
@Austen I actually don't miss the TLs (granted, I only had my TL for a month) but I know for me the Track Team has been the biggest miss. Our group tried it and stuck with the prompts for a whole month before half of them stopped showing up. I still love Lambda :~) Thanks, Austen!
@HarryStebbings Is it still worth it living in Silicon Valley / San Francisco now that everything is increasingly becoming remote? Has the utility just decreased or is there no value in living there anymore?
@Austen lower the monthly percentage taken from ISAs or lower the total tuition cost for underrepresented minorities in tech? kinda like a scholarship for minorities
