@50YearsAgoLive Mao was never China’s premier. By 1976 he held 'only' the positions of Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman of its Central Military Commission. The office of state president did not exist between 1975 and 1982.

@Nassreddin2002 Klopt, in 2003 zaten ze nog altijd rond de 35 procent in de regio. Daarna is het echte verval gevonden (in 2006 al onder de 30, vanaf dan diep eronder). Nog een leuk plaatje uit de oude doos, KVP op eigen kracht naar absolute meerderheid Brabant+Limburg (1971). CSU taferelen.

@KuangshunYang I would also argue that Hu Yaobang's (shortly after the standardization of One Country, Two Systems), Jiang Zemin's (during the Third Missile Crisis), and Hu Jintao's (shortly after the Anti-Secession Law) references to TW in their WW2 speeches were the outliers, not Xi’s silence
