🚨NEW: Lots of crypto industry folks jumping to the defense of @patrickjwitt and the White House following comments from an unnamed source claimed to be directly involved in the stablecoin yield talks.

I shared the post and the Crypto Twitter reaction with a banking-side source who has direct knowledge of the negotiations. They said the bank trade representatives (from @ABABankers, @ICBA and @bankpolicy) who attended last week’s White House meeting were perplexed by the characterization, do not share the unnamed source’s views and have already relayed that to the White House.

Additionally, they’re unsure why the individual characterized the situation in such “nihilistic” terms, noting that both sides are still giving input on text and aren’t necessarily living or dying by the March 1st deadline.

As the Venezuelan people prepare to chart a new direction for their country—one that turns away from the poverty of collectivism and embraces the abundance that rugged individualism enables—their economic reconstruction effort should strongly consider adopting USD and USD-backed stablecoins as legal tender in the country.

The Chavez/Maduro regime impoverished its people through corruption and currency mismanagement, leading to hyperinflation of the bolívar and a flourishing black market for dollars. Some estimates claim upwards of 50% of transactions in the country already take place in USD.

Venezuela is already a de facto dollarized state. Making it de jure will attract foreign investment and bring much-needed price stability to the Venezuelan economy as it re-enters the global market.

I entered this race because I felt called to serve the great people of northwest Florida, and because I truly believe that Congress must enact President Trump’s America First agenda to get our country back on track. The president has made clear that he believes Jimmy Patronis is the right man to help get his agenda passed in Washington, and I am joining President Trump in endorsing Jimmy Patronis for this seat.

Though I am disappointed to be stepping out of the race today, I am not standing down. I will continue to speak up for the veterans in this community and for the families who call this great place home.

I am honored to accept Mr. Patronis' invitation to serve as his Advisor for Military and Veterans Affairs, and in this position I will make certain that he understands the issues affecting veterans and military families in the 1st District.

I want to offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported my campaign and my family with their time, prayers, advice, and personal resources these past few weeks.
