Our first handover has taken place, with the baton travelling from Dundee to Edinburgh as its journey across the UK continues.

ESTABLISH is a new multicentre randomised controlled trial looking at the treatment of acute limb ischaemia.
The study will compare open surgery and endovascular surgery, helping build the evidence needed to guide treatment decisions in this serious vascular emergency.

How to parachute. It’s really an important technique to learn. The most important things to have. Long suture. 48 inch 4-0 BB for proximal anastomosis. I put 4-5 stitches in, then bring down graft. Especially useful in deep holes. 1st year fellow doing end to end to beveled aorta

@DrBenLovell I got mine done 3 years ago and it took ~8 months for one eye to get to 20/20 vision but it’s still the best thing I’ve ever done - I just require eye drops on a morning for dry eyes
