โSo โDay, be true to your country. Work hard for the people. And the rewardsโฆI think are there made in heaven, not here. Trabaho ka lang and be good. I love you.โ
#SalamatPRRD#DuterteLegacy
To the dedicated and brave men and women of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) both retired and active, may you never forget that former President Rodrigo Duterte stood by you in a way no other leader in recent memory has. With eyes wide open, we witnessed how he valued, protected, and empowered you throughout his presidency.
"Just do your job within the bounds of the law." Time and again, FPRRD reminded you of this, assuring you that as long as you upheld your sworn duty, he would stand as your shield against those who sought to undermine your work. He made it clear:
โTrabaho lang kayo, at ako ang mananagot. ("Just do your job, and I will take responsibility.") I will protect you! Ako ang managot sa lahat.โ (I will take responsibility for everything.").
Such words were not empty promisesโthey were the foundation of his genuine leadership and his utmost love for his country and as your Commander-in-Chief. He led with conviction, unwavering in his commitment to defend not only the Filipino people but also those entrusted with the protection of the state. He ensured that you had the support you needed to confront criminals, drug lords, insurgents (the NPAs who are the enemies of the state), and enemies of the Republic.
Now, compare this to the man who currently holds the reins of power. Marcos Jr. has not only failed to uphold the nationโs sovereignty but has blatantly surrendered it to a foreign institution that has no jurisdiction over the Republic of the Philippines. His actions disregard the very essence of our existence as a sovereign state, trampling on the principles that define our standing in the global community and thatโs our SOVEREIGNTY!
The illegal arrest and kidnapping of former President Duterte by allowing foreign intervention in our national affairs is an ASSAULT on our SOVEREIGNTY. A bonafide Filipino citizen and former head of state is now being subjected to an external force that has no authority over our nation. Instead of defending the Philippines against undue foreign interference, Marcos Jr. has betrayed the fundamental duty of a President and the head of state/leader and thatโs to safeguard the sovereignty of his people and the country.
Take note: The Philippines is NOT a failed state. Our judicial system remains active, functional, and sovereign. If any Filipino citizen, including a former president, must face legal proceedings, it should be within our own courtsโnot under the jurisdiction of a foreign tribunal that has no authority/jurisdiction over our nation.
Surrendering a former leader to an external legal body undermines our national sovereignty, weakens our legal institutions, and sets a dangerous precedent for foreign intervention in our domestic affairs. The responsibility to uphold justice belongs to the Philippine judiciary, not to an entity that disregards our autonomy and independence as a nation. To allow otherwise is a betrayal of our sovereignty and an insult to our legal system.
To every Filipino, let this be clear: OUR SOVEREIGNTY IS NOT UP FOR NEGOTIATION!
To the AFP and PNP, you swore an oath to protect the Republic of the Philippines, not to serve the interests of foreign entities. In times of uncertainty, remember your true dutyโto defend the Philippine state, the nation, uphold the Constitution, and remain loyal to the Filipino people above all else.
Constitutional Mandate, Article II, Section 3, 1987 Constitution states that the AFP is the "protector of the people and the state" and its goal is to secure the sovereignty of the state and the integrity of the national territory.
To my Filipinos compatriots! What we are witnessing today is a shameful betrayal of our national dignity and sovereignty. The question now is, will we stand idly by, or will we hold the man in the helm of power accountable??? The choice is in our hands! WE should NEVER forget, WE ARE THE SOVEREIGN FILIPINO PEOPLE and WE WILL OVERCOME!!
Dear Sen. Risa,
As General Antonio Luna said, โYour enemy will be your fellow Filipinoโ and Duterte is a living proof. They throw everything at him lies, hate and betrayal just to bring him down.
Sabi ni Date to Ask PH (Facebook):
Please tell me, ANONG KLASENG PAG-IISIP AT PUSO mayroon ang 19th Congress of the Philippines na HINDI BINIGYAN ng pondo ang Metro Manila Subway, na tinatawag na Project of the Century?
A Thread.
