The Philadelphia Phillies just finished a sweep of the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers. Philadelphia has won 29 of its last 35 games and is 37-14 on the season. It doesn't really matter what your opponents' records are if you're emasculating them every single day.
@toomias85 @JohnStolnis Hate to break it to you, but this is the modern MLB. If we get rid of Rob and bring someone else in, the front office will force these type of moves too. Analytics departments are running (and ruining) the league
@ChrisBabcock2@ByJackHarris His mother managed most of his finances (as in common in Japan) and she trusted Ippei just like Shohei did. I think he may have knew about it a little earlier but it’s hard to believe a guy who elected to stay in dorms well into earning millions has a gambling problem
@21Cosmic1@BookitWithTrent It’s just as likely to do as well as any expert bracket. Remember that guy that did coin flips and was perfect until the last couple games of the sweet 16? Knowledge or experience means nothing in March
Howard Eskin criticizing Rob Thomson’s opening day lineup for spring training and calling it “embarrassing” is everything that’s wrong with Philadelphia sports media. You don’t always need to find something to complain about. The fans deserve better than this representation
I love the Nola signing, but we still need at least one more arm, whether starting or not.
Sanchez can go to the pen and Abel could eat up some innings in relief later in the summer
Just don’t know how I feel going into 2024 hoping Jose or SerAntbony can be the closer, again.
Dave Dombroski and Scott Boras, stop messing around and get Jordan Montgomery to Clearwater already. It would be a great market for him, the fans would love him and he would make the rotation unstoppable. We already missed out on Stroman, Burnes, and Imanaga. Don’t add JoMo
I pray that @EASPORTS was neglecting all of their games to focus on cfb25. My experience and EAs track record says this game will be horrible, or it will stop being cared for as soon as their next project comes along.
Now that the https://t.co/m5tuMOJ4X9 20-11 players came out, here is my guess at the top 10 (in no particular order)
Shohei
Judge
Acuna
Soto
Julio
Mookie
Freddie
Cole
Seager
DeGrom
I know Shōta isn’t too much of a dark horse but I’m high on him, could be most impressive Asain-born rookie this year
Look for Churrio and PCA to make big noise
Abel and Tiedemann could both end up eating innings in September
Judge is probably MVP, but could be Julio’s year.
2 Days before Spring Training, here are my 2024 MLB Predictions
NL CY: Young: Strider
NL MVP: Ronald Acuña Jr
NL ROY: Jung Hoo Lee
AL CY: Kevin Gausman
AL MVP: Aaron Judge
AL ROY: Evan Carter
WS: Phillies over Orioles
Philly Phinally gets over the hump
#RingTheBell
Here are my “dark horse” candidates. Not too unknown, just not too high of betting favorites (+1800 or higher)
NL CY: Young: Tyler Glasgow
NL MVP: Corbin Carroll
NL ROY: Shōta Imanaga
AL CY: Grayson Rodriguez
AL MVP: Jose Ramirez
AL ROY: Heston Kjerstad
WS: Mariners over Cubs
It’s crazy to see the dichotomy of commercials that clearly have an insane budget made specifically for the super bowl and the cbs/bass pro ads that are ran every other day of the week.
