We just released 3.0.0-beta.1 of the MCP Rust SDK with support for the upcoming 2026-07-28 version of the protocol.
A lot of effort went into this, and it was fun working with @DaleSeo@jackamadeo to get it all done!
π New blog post alert! π’ Learn how to use OpenAI's API without your own API key, straight from Google Sheets! πβ¨ #TechTips#OpenAI#GoogleSheets https://t.co/68PUKfoatY
Calling an external API from Google Sheets is super simple using the Neptyne Python add-on. Here's an example using the fantastic API from @Meteorologisk that shows current weather and forecast for a given city: https://t.co/b25PBTtyYR

Lots of chatter about rain likelihood on weekdays and the possible causes. But this seems like recency bias to me. The last few weekends have been rainy, sure, but overall the day-of-week pattern seems quite random:

I'm really excited about this! We made it so you don't need to provision your own OpenAI developer key to use their API in Neptyne. You can experiment yourself or even share apps, and the key management is handled by your Neptyne account.
Want to try building your own LLM-based tools? We've made it easier to get started with OpenAI APIs in Neptyne spreadsheets. Check it out!

A visualization of compost bins filling + emptying in NYC. Made with @NeptyneHQ + @plotlygraphs animations. The tyne here ingests the data and creates the visualization: https://t.co/NJ1nWMGMmi
A subtle but surprisingly important way that spreadsheets are better than most apps:
When the user tweaks an input cell, that's considered just data in the sheet, so it's always *persisted* and *easily shareable*.

Today we're launching our conversational AI integration. If you are going to look at one demo today, watch the video below. AI to program a spreadsheet is something else. Get data, clean the data and visualize! Try it with something like "write a function to calculate a mortgage"
A friend of mine is using ChatGPT to blaze through an online drivers' ed course to save $ on car insurance.
We were promised autonomous vehicles, but instead we got chatbots that take the test for us. π€
