1A Tackle FB Playoffs: #6 Williams: Hats off to the Vikings!! The team we saw peaking for the playoffs was not even close to the team I saw on film earlier in the season!

With 4 losses heading into the playoffs they showed that playing a very tough schedule: 4 losses to Playoff teams: #5 Superior-#2 Bagdad-#1 Hayden-#4 Mogollon played a huge role in allowing them to learn from the losses and peak at the right time!

With a lower seed the perennial powerhouse team had to defeat San Man 50-6 BUT then hit the road in the 2nd round and play #3 St David who is always tough to beat on their home field but without blinking an eye they beat them 58-40 setting up a showdown with #2 Bagdad a team they had already lost to 26-42!!

In yesterdays game they were up heading into the late 3rd 18-12 before bagdad tied it up at 18 and made their PAT to go up 19-18!

Williams never gave up as they had chances all the way to the end of the game before finally losing 19-18 after a very great run in the playoffs!

Williams has always had a Powerhouse program and a seasoned staff that allowed the Vikings to make a run at the title! They ended their season 7-5 but showed how fighting thru adversity and staying focused in most cases gets great end results!

1A #6 Williams defeats #3 St David 58-40:
CRUNCH TIME DRIVE!
Score was 44-22 Williams but Tigers grabbed the momentum and owned the 3rd and about 1 minute gone in 4th had made the score 44-40!
(Missed 2pt conversions hurt Tigers)

With Williams back against the wall Williams had a Crunch Time Drive to stop the Tigers MR Momentum and went on a nice drive taking time off the clock to go up 52-40 and regain the momentum to win the game!

They got a late TD at the end of the game to seal the deal!

Biggest Upset in the playoffs this evening was in 1A where Williams traveled to #3 St David and won 58-40! Williams has been a perennial power but wasnt looking like a state contender early but for sure are peaking at the right time-now we have another semi Williams vs bagdad
