Fans have every right to boo the hydration break. England v Croatia is in an air conditioned stadium. And there’s no problem with overheating. This is blatant USA changing the game so they can run commercial breaks.
#ENGCRO England lead 1-0 with Harry Kane’s re taken penalty
I've said it before, Portugal need to organise a fake World Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo during the real thing so he believes he's playing against DR Congo when all the players are actors. Genuinely think he'd fall for it, not sure he knows who any of his teammates are anyway.
Norway's Erling Haaland is the first player to score twice on their World Cup debut since...
Elijah Just for New Zealand on Monday, who was the first player to achieve the feat since...
Yasin Ayari for Sweden on Sunday, who was the the first to do so since...
Folarin Balogun for the U.S. on Friday.
It really should be called what it actually is. It's a commercial break.
Qatar-Switzerland was the best evidence for it. Both teams ready early, Abunada wants to restart with a goal kick, but he's not allowed to because certain broadcasters aren't yet back from ads...
The commentator for the Netherlands vs Japan match just said "There is no need for the hydration break if the game is indoor" And it absolutely agree. @FIFAWorldCup is ruining this sport to fit the Americans 💔 all of these just so some cry babies can run their ads in our faces
The hydration portion of that break was finished & the players were just standing around to wait for the commercials to finish so the ref can restart the game. The US are corrupting our f*cking sport.
Curacao, ranked 82nd in the world, have Germany, ranked 10th, on the ropes... but let's stop for a "hydration break" in an air-conditioned stadium.
What an absolute farce.
When Russia hosted the World Cup in 2018, it had to suspend normal visa rules for the tournament. Foreigners with tickets could enter visa-free, using a scheme called ‘Fan ID.’
Russia also had to do weird stuff to keep FIFA’s sponsors happy. For example, small shops near Fan Zones and stadiums could only sell Budweiser beer on match days.
So yes, FIFA absolutely does dictate conditions to host governments when it suits FIFA. Infantino pretending otherwise is nonsense.
🏆 Referee announced for 2026 #SuperCup!
We're pleased to share that Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate the highly anticipated match between PSG and Aston Villa in Salzburg.
I’m not saying ITV Sport have run out of things to talk about while the England kick-off is delayed, but Ian Wright is talking about the movie Cars, with Roy Keane agreeing that “it is a great film.”
World Cup fever’s here, lads.
