And every act of dissent is not an act of patriotism if what you feel is “righteous” is just your opinion of what righteousness is and not based on the principles of the constitution.

Everyone must read this book at least once. C.S. Lewis's masterful defense of Christianity. A summary:

1. Every day we appeal to a standard of right and wrong that we expect everyone else to recognize, even though none of us consistently live up to it.

2. That Moral Law isn't just instinct or social convention. It points beyond the material world to a true, objective standard. There must be a mind behind the universe.

3. Why is the Moral Law not just biological instinct? Because our instincts often conflict and we believe some should override others. E.g. you feel both the instinct to run from danger and to help someone in need — the Moral Law tells you which impulse you ought to follow.

4. That gets you to a Moral Lawgiver (God), but not yet to Christianity. The next question is which view of God best explains both the reality of morality and the reality of evil.

5. Christianity's answer is that the world was made good, corrupted by human rebellion, and is now the battleground between good and evil (because created beings are free to choose). Unlike say dualism, which makes good and evil equal opposing powers (and you have no basis to call one better than the other), Christianity explains evil best as a corruption of originally good creation.

6. If that is the human condition, the question becomes whether God has done anything about it, or whether we are left to fix ourselves or simply decay. Christianity's answer is that God has already acted in history in a decisive way through Jesus.

7. Then, everything rests on Jesus's claims. You can't reduce him to "just a great moral teacher" — if his claims about himself are true, he's God. If not, they demand another explanation.

8. Then, the Resurrection is key. That it really happened is the best explanation of the earliest Christian testimony, the sudden transformation of the disciples, and the rapid rise of belief in a risen Christ.

9. If Christ really did die and rise again, Christianity cannot just be another philosophy, but rather God's intervention to reconcile humanity to himself and begin creating a new kind of human being.

10. And that's why Christianity is not simply about following rules. It is about becoming a "little Christ": a person transformed through faith, prayer, repentance, and the practices of Christian life (e.g. the Eucharist or baptism).

In Charlie Kirks' Memorial service, watched by tens of millions, I just heard:
- Multiple clear presentations of the gospel from men like @robmccoyus and @DrFrankTurek with clear calls to repentance and faith
- Worship songs full of Scripture sung by tens of thousands live and millions at home
- Personal testimonies of lives transformed by the work of Christ and the witness of believers
- Demonstration and explanation of the value of marriage, child-rearing and family
- Calls to Romans 13 for the government to bear the sword for the protection of good and punishment of the wicked
- Declarations of spiritual warfare on the forces of evil and promises to endure no matter the cost
- Calls to be prophets and call the nation to repent
- More Scripture references and Bible readings than I can count
- And a widow publicly forgiving her husband's killer because Christ forgave his killers on the cross.

All of it done before, and by, the most powerful people in your nation and the world.

You guys should be on your knees thanking God for your country. It is a light to the world.
