11 years ago, British soldier Kevin Williams was cheered & celebrated in the media as a heroic example for being “the youngest soldier in Iraq,” deploying on his 18th birthday. He died by suicide this past May after a struggle with PTSD.

a) faultlines don't open up as massive fissures like that, they wouldn't cause quakes if they did
b) strike-slip faults can't cause magnitude 9 quakes
