Another tale of this broken city: 🧵
West 7th has been missing the vast majority of its street trees since 2019, when MnDOT cut them down with no plans to replant them because of “impending Riverview Corridor construction.”
KAOHLY HER for mayor?: State rep calls Carter’s gun control ordinance “performative” and costly, wants Summit Ave bikeway re-evaluated and says 1,600 vacant homes could be auctioned off to emerging developers. On other issues, she‘s aligned with him. https://t.co/T27g8futqT
happy to offer my unequivocal support for Mayor @melvincarter3 in his re-election bid.
enjoy this picture from a 2021 campaign, when Mayor Carter joined us for a door knock— Regal endorses him too.
whenever I’m in downtown with friends visiting the Cities, it is often noticed that the streets smell like urine.
it’s a policy choice our society has made, public bathrooms are just “too much work/cost/crime.”
so instead we all just live in piss.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Minnesota's Infrastructure Union: There is No Greater Champion for Minnesota’s Working People than Melissa Hortman
Saint Paul, MN – Today, Joel Smith, President and Business Manager of LIUNA Minnesota and North Dakota released the following statement after the assination of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark and the shooting of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette.
"Minnesota Laborers are devastated by the assassination of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark and the shooting of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. There is no greater champion for Minnesota’s working people than Melissa Hortman. Beyond her long list of pro-worker legislative accomplishments, she was a wonderful human being who cared about all Minnesotans, a loving wife and mom, and a close friend of LIUNA. There is no place for political violence in America. Our thoughts are with the Hortman and Hoffman families and all elected officials who make our Democracy work.”
