Following my post yesterday, @flyvaluejet has sent me an email, apologising for the experience, accepting that there were lapses, and offering compensation either as a 25% discount on a future flight or as immediate cash.
I have to say that I am highly impressed by their communication and the remedial actions outlined in it. As a sucker for good customer service, I am now a fan. They just need to ensure that the procedural lapses identified are immediately fixed.
Well done, @flyvaluejet.
@mikeachimugu01@mikeachimugu01, pls can the shameful and exploitative act of asking Travellers to pay 2000 for trolley and 500 for return passengers be looked into? Unless I am wrong, Nigeria is the only country where trolleys are paid for. This should be addressed, it is exploitative
@Arsenal is a world class team and you fans need to stop moaning and enjoy it.
As a fan, there’s no team in the world Arsenal will face that will scare me.
I’m not gonna waste my time moaning about which player gets selected or who is the manager’s favorite. I support every player that wears the shirt and gives their all.
I’m committed to enjoying the football my team is playing and the points we’re racking up.
I’ve experienced the trenches, I’ll enjoy this phase while it lasts.
BREAKING: Iran has reportedly activated its "dead hand" doctrine as Iranian officials now believe a joint U.S.-Israeli attack is imminent and have instructed the country’s armed forces to directly activate the decentralized “Mosaic Defense” doctrine, with commanders reportedly receiving extensive lists of U.S. economic and political targets to strike if war erupts, per Fars News.
The activation shifts Iran's military to 31 autonomous provincial commands, designed to ensure devastating retaliatory strikes can be launched even if central leadership is decapitated in a first wave of attacks. Tehran is pre-authorizing field commanders to fire without waiting for orders from the top.
It comes as Trump says the U.S. is "not negotiating" and "something will happen soon," Washington orders the complete evacuation of its embassy staff from the Gulf, and the IRGC claims to have struck seven vessels in a single night. The region is now on a hair trigger for total war.

I can’t remember which airline I was complaining about when some people told me to try Value Jet. They said they were quite reliable. So, I decided to try them today.
Value Jet 4pm flight from Abuja to Lagos. Boarding was announced just after 4pm. We all got to the foot of the aircraft and the plane couldn’t take everyone. It turns out they had combined two flights. Some people were told at the foot of the plane that they couldn’t go on the flight.
They took our hand luggages at the foot of the aircraft because the cabins, according to them, the cabins were full. We were not given any luggage tags. I asked and they said there was no need.
As I boarded, they asked to see my boarding pass and said “Free seating after Row 8.” I asked, “What do you mean? I am in Business Class, seat 5A.” They found me a seat at 2A.
When we were seated, they announced we were going to Lagos via Iperu, Ogun State. The lady Prof that sat next to me said we were taking the scenic route and we both laughed when they announced that we should sit back and relax.😀
When we got to Iperu, those of us going to Lagos were asked to stay onboard. It turns out that some people who were going to Lagos with us were planning to then go on to the Ijebu and Ikene axis from there. Given the unexpected detour to Iperu, they took the opportunity to disembark there. My process and quality assurance mind went to the integrity of the flight manifest.
I had a window seat and just happened to see my hand luggage being taken to the terminal. Because it is an all-Aluminum case, it is rather distinctive and easily distinguishable. I had to shout. They said they would sort it out and would ask for all the bags to be brought back. That took another 10 minutes.
When all the bags were brought back, we were then asked to disembark to identify our luggage. Some passengers had a few choice words for them.😀 They wondered what would have happened if I hadn’t seen my bag being taken to the terminal at Iperu.
When we eventually re-boarded, they then made the usual apology for the delay “for operational reasons.” One guy shouted “Operational reasons kee you there!”😂 There were shouts of “fraud”, “scam” and “deceit” from the back.
At 7:07 pm, three hours after boarding, we finally landed in Lagos.
Somehow, I am not even in the mood to make wahala today. I just want to get to my hotel and have a cold beer.😀
