@ReneeMontgomery So... I watch the clip of this interview on YouTube when I'm having a hard time maintaining perspective. Because I need to be reminded *constantly* to be me, be quiet, and mind my business. ๐
Big Al is a motivational speaker without even knowing it. #DoitfortheDream
@momoragan Opening the interview by asking Rhyne about her defense (which she takes great pride in) was a brilliant way to connect and draw out a great response. Fans want more engagement and well-researched interviews like this one.
Great coverage and analysis, from pre-game to post!
@NoaDalzell I knew she'd transition well and make an incredibly strong case for ROY this year, especially being drafted by the Lynx.
But I thought it would take 10 games or so for her to get comfortable as a pro. I underestimated how quickly she'd get acclimated.
@a_g_haubner Iโve wondered if Vanderbilt is building what Stanford used to beโฆ a highly reputed academic school with a winning womenโs basketball.
@herdesertplaces Yeah! I don't follow men's sports nearly as much, so I've been unsure if there's actually been an increase in Achilles injuries on that side or if I'm just hearing about it more personally since the algorithms think I care about sports in general. But I've wondered about that.
@herdesertplaces Thanks for sharing! All very interesting stuff.
My personal opinion is that hormones become an easy excuse to not think more critically. Just blame it on hormones and move on with life, like so many other issues in women's health...
@ordinarybritt The true vets all talk about adding something to their bag during the offseason, whether it's a new shot, a defensive skill, physical strength, speed, a specific element of the game within the game, etc.
Competitors know this well and they work hard at it. Strategically.
@herdesertplaces I also donโt think we can underestimate the luxury of a rookie being able to transition slowly. Managing a rookโs minutesโand pressureโis smart.
Rest for a body coming off a long NCAA season, โwelcome to the Wโ moments in practice instead of some vetโs highlight reels, etc.
@herdesertplaces Yeah. At least he's more well-spoken has a system beyond "togetherness."
However.
Fair or not, I will side-eye *anyone* who comes from the NBA and hasn't shown any kind of investment in women's basketball. Even more so if they have <2 years of NBA assistant coaching experience.
