Through the night July 11-12, #424Sqn conducted a #MEDEVAC from @Algonquin_PP, 50 NM southeast of North Bay, ON. A CH-146 Griffon 🚁 extracted the patient and transported them to hospital in Huntsville.

Last night, #SAR crews and aircraft from #424Sqn along with the @OPP_NER responded to a boat stranded in rapids on the Vermilion Rivier. The occupants of the vessel were hoisted aboard a CH-146 Griffon and transported to safety, while a CC-130H provided top-cover. #RESCUE

Your patient in the ED on [insert Xa-inhibitor drug] has an ICH on brain CT. Do you:

(A) give them a drug (andexanet) that costs (someone) an arm and a leg that reduces hematoma expansion without any difference in functional outcome and increases (doubles) thrombotic events, or
(B) keep doing the same thing you've been doing

The ANNEXA-I study was published yesterday and found exactly that - no patient-centered benefit but evidence of harm. IOW, just keep doing your usual thing for now.
