@AdamJones85@MattJFootball Agree. You could make the case that he’s impacting him by being in such close proximity. If that’s the rule then fine but, as you say, feels like a clear reaction to last week.
@henrywinter My frustration with the panenka is that you reduce your advantage. If you hit them hard and in the corner you are forcing the keeper to guess the right direction and make the save. Even if you go down the middle, a firm strike makes the save harder. Panenka adds additional risks
@jackoefc27 He is, at best, a capable defender but premier league LB requires much more than that. His lack of ability on the ball breaks down a lot of our play as he results to longer balls or going back to Pickford. Teams know this and press him because he doesn’t handle pressure well.
@DaleJohnsonBBC An absolute shocker imo and will only open the nonsense VAR floodgates further. Can’t believe that meets the threshold to be sent to screen. When will we get the audio? That will be fun.
@MattJFootball We've got plenty to improve on but still positive versus last season. WHam defended very deep which highlighted some of our attacking shortcomings. They also carried a decent threat on the counter which exploited our fullbacks. Progress is rarely linear
@Paddy_Boyland Largely very poor from Everton but absolutely fair to call out a really poor refereeing performance. He looked bewildered, slow and lacking confidence. Poor for both teams but it worked in Leeds’ favour with the crowd making an impact. Penalty debacle topped it off
@DaleJohnsonESPN I feel you might be kept busy having to explain why lots of similar blocks aren’t given for the rest of the season. Deflected shot which was travelling at speed, arm by side, trying to block a goalbound shot. Precedent has been set 😅
@MattJFootball Yeh that’s fair. You’d hope he’ll feel like he has something to prove but we have seen this before. If it happens, I’ll get fully behind it, if not I’ll be ok 😂
