I've been involved w/ tech since the early 90's and have framed a few tenants over the years:
1. If a new tech blows my mind, like keeps me up at night, and totally consumes me, it will eventually change the world, but...
Better just to send money directly to the people from the Treasury.
So long as the increase in goods & services exceeds the increase in the money supply, which will be the case with AI & robots, there will not be inflation.
In fact, my prediction is that we will desperately be fighting deflation!
@DocumentingBTC Supports the argument to burn coins that don't upgrade to new quantum resistant protocols with plenty of advanced notice. The other side of the argument, to let them be revived/stolen by a nation state or mega corp, hacking them using quantum is absolutely absurd.
@CoachDanGo@charles______9 Generally yes, unless the natural source is high in mercury (common in many fish) which gets distilled out in the better supplements
Every time:
At the top, the majority think it's got potential to go quite a lot higher in a short period of time.
At the bottom, the majority think it could go quite a lot lower and stay low for quite a long time.
@DavidBCollum@BrendanEich The concept is not a single massive data center, acres in size. The plan is many, many individual satellites (think the size of a rack in a data center). So would be more accurate to call them racks in space instead of data centers in space.
@Seanfrank The root cause is decades of convincing people all uses of electricity are inherently bad and are destroying the planet. To many, there is no justifiable use of more power. Logic doesn't matter in a religion. Mother Earth is the religion.
@robustus Trump has embraced tech and AI, thus they both have to be framed as bad in every possible scenario, no matter how absurd the argument. FUD train just getting started.
@Bitcoin_Teddy@adam3us Forget all the charts and analysis. Just increase your buys when Bitcoin shakes off big positive news, doesn't move. Take some profits when your friends, family and co-workers are asking about it. It's not that hard. Learn to listen to the world around you. ππ»>π§
@AndrewCurran_ Nuclear needed to be somewhat near population centers. AI data centers do not. This is only because they are targeting existing power plants with extra capacity because it's faster. New plants will be built in middle of nowhere just for AI datacenters. Temporary issue...
@FisherNas@AngelList@usvc_ Yes, you get diluted unless they make follow-on investments in those same companies with the new dollars coming in. That's my biggest complaint with the similarly structured Ark Venture fund that's been out for a few years.
@gladstein@nic_carter I personally don't want the US or and gov to get them without paying. Throughout history, gov show us they are not responsible and will just sell them off. Maybe the next admin or in 30 years. But option 3 is just a delayed, no freeze. Better for the network to burn them.
