Gap Band Alert!
Danny Wallace went DEAD CENTER for home run # 5 on the year to break up the no-hitter, and get the Cowboys on the board all in the same swing. This dude has some serious pop to center, then oppo.
As I like to say about him, he's a "little guy" that's not really a "little guy".
Pokes still chasin' 2 runs, down 3-1! This offense needed a wake-up call, and hopefully this shot was it. #gopokes #okstate
Danny Wallace arrived at #OKState expecting to learn behind veteran outfielders. Now, the freshman has stepped into a bigger role late in the season and is helping provide a spark for the Cowboys.

Anyone else starting to get Zac Ehrhard vibes watching Danny Wallace play? He's a "little guy", that's not really a "little guy". Which means, he's SUPER dynamic, and can impact baseball games in SO MANY different ways, which we saw last night.
The dude can hit home runs, he can hit the ball the other way, he has a TON of pullside power, he can RUN, he's aggressive, he's confident, and his mannerisms give off a LOT of confidence in his abilities. Again, I keep saying this, but he "looks like an OSU baseball player". I can't explain it, but I know it when I see it.
Remember Friday, his leadoff home run to answer the crooked number from TCU? Well, that was maybe THE biggest hit of that game. Without that "answer," Ritchie is likely not in a position to hit a walkoff. Then he made a nice catch on Friday night, he had 2 hits last night, he went 1st to 3rd, and he scored on the 1st & 3rd double steal.
On that play, that was ALL instincts! First of all, it was NOT a steal, it was NOT pre-planned, and it did NOT happen as a designed play. Convoer saw the ball in the dirt, so he took off. Then, because it all happened so fast, the catcher actually threw the ball. My guess is, on a straight steal, TCU would have held the ball, then walked Ritchie. Which also goes to why you don't steal in that situation, you take the bat out of the hands of Kollin. And, the courage of Conover to go there on the ball in the dirt was AWESOME. Imagine getting thrown out with Kollin Ritchie at the plate, and he had the confidence to do it, even in the face of that. And, because of it, OSU scored and NEVER looked back.
We got ALL the meat off that bone, in terms of the ways he can impact games. Atta baby, Danny, keep ringin' that Cowbell. You will, you're just gettin' started! #gopokes #okstate
Danny Wallace...Atta Baby! Wallace had a pair of knocks last night, a couple of ribeyes, and scored a run. Wallace has 3 hits in his 8 at-bats, and, at least 2 of them that I remember, were with 2 outs and drove in runs, so they were huge.
This dude knows how to dig in and get into a foxhole when he knows his team needs a quality at bat. And that's great and all, but you also have to have the ability to execute, and he does. And, the humble confidence in which he carries himself is easy to root for.
Well done, Danny, keep up the GREAT work! #gopokes #okstate
