Today, we joined the Butabika community and the Ministry of Health to celebrate the opening of Hope Sports Centre—a space that affirms the dignity of every life and the power of collaboration.
Through sport, the centre will create opportunities for people to build friendships, rediscover joy, find purpose, and embrace hope.
Thank you, Watoto family, for your continued generosity in helping us care for our communities. Together, we are making a difference!

We Won!!!!
Best Agri-SME Lending Executive 🏆
Proud moment for us at Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited
This award, presented by Aceli Africa, is more than a trophy. It is recognition of bold leadership, intentional strategy and measurable impact in Uganda’s agricultural finance ecosystem.
We were ably represented by @Ambonna, our Chief Relationship Officer, whose leadership has been instrumental in shaping our Agri strategy and driving impact across the sector.
Over the past years, we have:
✅ Championed the Aceli partnership in Uganda, strengthening catalytic capital for agri-SMEs.
✅ Enabled 110% growth of the AgFin book between 2021 and 2025.
✅ Provided strategic leadership in Agri-SME financing.
✅ Advanced Climate Finance solutions that build resilience.
✅ Deepened Gender Inclusion to ensure women-led agri businesses access affordable capital.
Behind these numbers are farmers scaling production, agri-processors expanding operations, women entrepreneurs formalizing businesses and rural jobs being created.
This recognition affirms one thing: when strategy meets purpose, growth follows👏🏾👏🏾
Congratulations to our Agri team for the relentless execution, and to our partners who believe in building sustainable agri value chains in Uganda.

The note on the door read: “Dear Parent, Pay Full Fees.”
And just like that, the heartbeat changed.
School has already opened. The child is stressed and you too are.
And the bursar’s office? It speaks one language full payment.
For many parents, that moment feels heavy.
You’ve planned. You’ve tried. But January didn’t ask for permission.
Then comes a different message.
An envelope that says, “Loan Approved.”
A reminder that you don’t have to carry the term alone.
At Opportunity Bank, when the bursar says “Pay Full Fees,” we say, “We’ve got you.”
Because education shouldn’t pause due to pressure.

🎄 Yesterday (18/12), we spent a lovely evening with the children & caregivers of Good Samaritan Inclusive Primary School, Nasuuti, sharing Christmas cheer with children living with disabilities in Mukono.
Through donations of food, clothes, mattresses, hygiene items, cake, drinks & story time, we celebrated inclusion, dignity & compassion—because real impact goes beyond banking.

25 Branches Strong💃💃💃 Expanding Refugee Financing in Rwamwanja
We’re excited to announce the opening of our 25th branch in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, Kamwenge District a milestone made possible through our strong partnership with Opportunity International UK.
Launched today by Mrs. Mary Oakes (CEO, Opportunity International UK), Mr. Owen Amanya our CEO and Mrs. Jacqueline Kobusingye Opondo our Board Chairperson this new branch reaffirms our commitment to financial inclusion for both refugees and host communities.
Rwamwanja is home to over 110,000 refugees, with agriculture as the main economic activity. Our new branch will deliver: tailored agricultural financing, support for women-led and youth enterprises, digital and mobile banking and Financial literacy training.
From our pioneering work in Nakivale to now serving 19,000+ refugees and disbursing over UGX 4 billion in refugee-focused loans, we’ve seen first-hand that when refugees have the right financial tools, they thrive and so do their communities.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the @OPMUganda , @Refugees, @BOU_Official , implementing partners and our many dedicated partners who share our vision of bridging humanitarian response with sustainable development.
Rwamwanja is more than a branch, it’s a place where dignity meets determination and resilience meets opportunity.
