@jacksonheidesch who now runs at Duke and formerly for Dowling Catholic joined us at summer running this morning! He shared some advice, answered questions and joined us on the run!
A big thank you for joining us today!
I’m overjoyed after state cross country weekend! Not only did I complete my first season as coach of our girls team, but our boys captured their 3rd straight state title! If that wasn’t enough I also watched Lydia compete in her first state meet with my wife by her side!
The Class 4A #iahsxc team champs: Dowling Catholic! Maroons have five runners between 15:33 and 16:03 to win their 11th team title.

When the opportunity to coach a program with 6 state titles, 5 individual state champions, 3 NXN team qualifiers, multiple future NCAA champions and a US Olympian, it wasn’t a difficult decision.
That’s a wrap on an incredible high school career. @jacksonheidesch 3:59.08 mile and 8:42.60 2 mi. Both fastest IA prep AT. 1:50.38 for 800. 3rd fastest IA prep AT. 14:56.65 XC 5k on Ft Dodge state course. Fastest AT. #prouddad#thatsmyboy#loveyoudude
Jackson Heidesch had one goal heading into his senior track season: to run the mile in under four minutes.
He accomplished that goal and in doing so, @jacksonheidesch became the first Iowa prep ever to run a sub-4 mile.
