Democrats in Connecticut introduce House Bill 5537

They want to make a l new soda tax to fund universal free lunch for public school students, but it’s not just for sodas. The fine print says it’s for all sugary drinks

A 2-liter bottle of soda could rise from $1.99 to $3.35 but it doesn’t stop there

The tax applies to drinks with added sugars or artificial sweeteners. This means regular soda, diet drinks, flavored waters, drink mixes, some coffee and tea beverages

So essentially all sweetened drinks are getting taxed. Even if it's diet or 99% juice, you're getting taxed. Drink powders and syrups too.

The only exceptions

- 100% fruit/vegetable juices
- Milk-based drinks where milk is at least 50% of the product
- Infant formula, medical beverages, and some others

This adds about $2.88 in tax to every 12 pack of soda

Democrats are trying to steal more of your money. We all know they never actually spend the money on what they’re supposed to

We have to mass deport that insane amount of illegals that have poured across the border from Mexico into California for decades and then put the homeless in mandatory treatment

California elections are rigged and we all know it, illegals are voting. Fixing California elections must be a federal priority
