Before the internet I never looked anything up. No guides, no masters. A desire for perfectionism leaked into my gaming and damaged my grit. How you do something is how you do everything is trite but true.
Playing video games with online guides lowered my uncertainty tolerance. Recently I’ve been playing with a new gamer, and I’m encouraging them not to optimize, look up, or do anything other than follow their heart (and I’m doing the same) in games like Elden Ring and Stardew
As silly as it sounds, it’s imbued me with the creative energy required to take risks in my creative world and they’re immediately paying off. This subtle change shook something loose.
@gabriel1 Grew up in a back brace, scheuermann's disease. Posture still bad but people no longer notice because of the way I stand and hold myself most of the time. The trick is to relax. When you stand up straight, start with your feet and not your chest.
