Today I really miss my friend. Trauma is hard and I know so many Kentuckians are processing. Please take care of you. You are loved and we care about you.
@TerryStasuik I support this bill because all veterans should receive the same benefits, privileges, and rights regardless of their gender or sexual orientation!
I support Senate Bill 130 in KY, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
NASW supports legislation that is committed to social justice and inclusion for all. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
HB 276 in KY will allow for the expansion of Medicaid eligibility to include pregnant women and new mothers up to 12 months postpartum regardless of citizenship or national origin. The NASW supports equal access to healthcare services for all! #WKUsocialworkpolicy
@HannahWestWKUSW I agree that education on racism in schools is important! I like that the article highlights how crucial it is for children in school to learn about equity and social justice.
@TerryStasuik I support HB 233 as it gives women access to necessary prenatal care. A bill proposed solely for women of color just shows how much disparity there still is on our society.
@MswDarren As Social Workers, it is our job to educate individuals on the right steps to ensure their retirement planning goes smoothly and to also advocate for policies that protect the rights and well-being of older adults.
Social Security is more than just a tax coming out of your checks. This money is to ensure economic security for those age 65+! The NASW supports economic security for older adults with particular attention to preserving and strengthening this administration. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
I have been pushing for medical cannabis and sports betting for years. Today, I signed these two bills into law. Team Kentucky delivers and we get results. Congrats, Kentucky.
This is the worst forecast I’ve seen as Governor. I am declaring a state of emergency so that we can be prepared. We are taking this very seriously, and we need you to take this seriously too. Please be prepared. Let’s do everything possible to keep everyone safe.
In U.S. history we used to criminalize people with mental health illnesses, then would institutionalize them, & created a stigma around the issue. As social workers we strive to find ways that better quality of life through advocacy, research, & treatment. #WKUsocialworkpolicy
