BREAKING: Justice is served as a January 6th insurrectionist who was found guilty of plotting to kill the federal agents tasked with investigating his role in the Capitol attack gets sentenced to life in prison.

Trump's pardons couldn't save this monster from sweet karma...

Edward Kelley developed a "kill list" targeting the FBI agents and other officials who helped investigate his illegal behavior on January 6th. He assembled his plan to assassinate them while he was waiting to stand trial in that case.

He was the fourth insurrectionist to enter the Capitol right during the siege and was part of a mob that chased brave Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman through the building.

While Kelley was saved from the January 6th charges thanks to Donald Trump's lawless mass pardon, that get-out-jail-free card does not apply to the kill list charges. Kelley's attorneys tried unsuccessfully to argue that the pardon extended to the assassination plot.

“The offenses for which the defendant was found guilty by an East Tennessee jury are the products of the defendant’s independent volitional acts,” wrote Justice Department prosecutors. “They are not related to events at or near the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Prosecutors pursued the life in prison sentence because Kelley's crimes were "serious and undeniably dangerous." With him behind bars, the American public will be just a little bit safer.
