[1] Israel attack on #AlAhli_Baptist_hospital aims for nothing but to make the community feels hopeless, helpless, and has no safe space. It aims to push Palestinian to leave their land. This is a war crime and all the denial by the officials in Israel will not hide the truth.
Ahead of Friday’s #ArabLeague meeting in Saudi Arabia, where our social media timelines will inevitably be flooded by Arab rulers shaking hands with Assad, here are just seven reasons why normalizing with the Assad regime is a terrible, shameful move: https://t.co/GkjUOMEeMx
A call on the international community to depoliticize humanitarian aid at today's Türkiye-Syria earthquake donor summit in #Brussels. No aid arrived in northwest #Syria within the 72-hour rescue window. The UN also waited 1 week for Assad's approval to expand cross-border aid.
In response to the devastating #Syria_earthquake, donors must engage with local organizations and quasi-governmental entities in NW Syria such as the @SyriaCivilDef and Health Directorates to meet the urgent needs and develop long-term localisation plans. https://t.co/zlt0WeXNYZ
1- Spy chief Husam Luka’s daughter
Is now working for the @UNHCRinSYRIA !!
When many people reached out asking the UN about this, they replied: “we appoint our new workers based on restricted conditions”.
She is the one responsible for all the UN donations that reach #syria

“The Arab Spring was a representation of the dignity of the Arab people”
We were so honoured to have @OzKaterji come and speak so passionately in opposition to our ‘This House Regrets the Arab Spring’ debate motion earlier this term.
This piece includes much more information than only the corruption of #UN in Damascus in recruitment. It shows the systematic weaponization of the aid system by Assad regime.

I co authored this comment on the Lancet with @shjabbour and a group of experts on the response to the earthquake.
We call for launching an independent commission to investigate actions and inactions, identify responsibilities, and propose corrective actions within the UN system
The UN plans to set up two new offices in rebel-controlled parts of Idlib & Aleppo provinces. It wouldn't be doing this without Syrian government permission, but it refuses to disclose the terms. Is the UN giving Assad officials control of humanitarian operations in these areas?

#ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-#Baghdadi was an evil, barbaric man & his death in #Syria is a moment to celebrate.
BUT the scale of #Baghdadi’s murder pales in comparison to #Assad’s - the numbers speak for themselves, take a look:
.@USATODAY: President Bashar al-Assad brutally cracked down on #protesters in March 2011. At least 560,000 people have been #killed in the eight years since the conflict began, incl. 1,864 civilians in the first half of this year alone, acc. to #SNHR#Syria
[1]A thread on attacks on Health in #Syria, focusing on the recent escalation in NW started April 26th.
Attacks on health have been used as a war tactic in #Syria since years. Over 600 attacks on health were reported, and over 800 health workers killed in 8 years.
