Less than 24 hours after Murry frost, a trans man, died. We are also losing another sister to murder. There isn't even time for us to mourn. The increase in violent hate crimes against trans people and the government not doing anything, no news media covering it feel like the early steps of a trans genocide. We need our allies more than ever.
We will always be here and unapologetically loud for those who couldn't.
This is the first time I write like this.
But the circumstances have become stronger than me.
All I want is to see my children safe and feel that they are not alone in this world.
This week our Gaza patient Baraa, who has been in Houston for nearly a year for treatment to build him new legs and get him walking again, was with Houston Texans All-Pro Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. He has been a long-time support of the HEAL kids who get treatment in Houston.
Big news! @Sandela and I are raising money to hire a journalist to investigate the extent to which pro-Israel narratives are influencing Canadian media, and what the impact of that influence is on coverage.
Chip in a few bucks! Help us hire somone!

My son Qais deserves to experience the joy of Eid like any other child. I need $200 to secure his Eid clothes and basic essentials, bringing happiness to his little heart amid these harsh tent conditions. Please share & donate. 💔👕👇

We have submitted a formal complaint to Kent Police Professional Standards and are seeking support from @GarethBaconMP . We are sharing this because no child should be treated this way, and we want to ensure accountability and prevent this happening to anyone else’s child.
at such a young and vulnerable age.
I believe the officer failed to follow Kent Police’s own child‑centred policing policies, which require officers to avoid adultifying children and to use the least intrusive methods possible. We also believe safeguarding duties were not met.
He was not violent, threatening, or trying to run away. Despite this, the officer immediately put him in handcuffs and carried out a search.
Our son was frightened and distressed. During the incident, I asked the officer to send me the stop‑and‑search record…
It is with an extreme heavy heart that I have come to the decision to share this information. Yesterday, on the 25/05/2026, my 12‑year‑old son was stopped, handcuffed, and searched by a Kent Police officer in Sevenoaks after briefly touching and playing with a loose stop sign.
@jk_rowling 1) A huge proportion of trans people suffer transphobic physical or sexual violence each year.
Research by Galop, like other organisations, finds this.
2) There aren't statistics for trans women using men's toilets because it has almost never happened, because of 1).
Woke up to the saddest news today: my friend Fadi Almeghari was martyred in Gaza.
My heart feels especially heavy. We are constantly told there is a ceasefire, but all that really seems to mean is that innocent people are being killed at a slower pace.
Fadi was more than a photographer, more than a storyteller. He was a provider to his community, someone who carried people with whatever he had. He was an older brother to the children around him, especially to those who had lost a father, a mother, or an entire family. He became a son to many parents who had lost their own children, and a grandson to the elders who had survived more grief than anyone should ever have to carry.
That is what made his vision so special. He did not only capture beauty in the middle of violence and destruction, he lived it. He gave people warmth, dignity and tenderness in a world that tried to strip them of all three.
Only someone with a pure heart could portray life with that much love, even in the middle of so much death.
May Allah grant you Jannah, my friend.
The fact that so few Americans recognize there has been a power shift between US and Israel during the last administration and now this one is rooted in American exceptionalism. The idea that Israel may have at some point outmaneuvered the US and is now in charge is unacceptable
