Goose: my latest programming language. Safer, faster and less memory than Rust/C++ for algorithms where tightly packed, flat data structures matter.
It can represent more kinds of data structures as flat, pointer-free bytes than any language I know.

@jayfmn_@Im_IrushiK yes, depending on the timing of your usage (and upcoming regular reset), you may get more or less usage
this is frustrating to the users who get unlucky
@jayfmn_@Im_IrushiK if i planned to use the 50% usage in 1 day then 100% usage in the next 7, and it is now reset, i no longer have that option
not sure why it’s so hard for you to understand that it is disruptive and penalizes those who save their usage for the end of the period
@dmonsta86@Im_IrushiK no it pushes back the next reset date too!
i had 50% of my usage left to use in 24 hours, but now that’s lost, and i gotta ration for the next week
@jayfmn_@Im_IrushiK i had 50% usage left for the next 24 hours, then 100% usage for the next 7 days after that
now i have just 100% usage for 7 days
i lost my ability to spend 50% of my last week usage today

@DonnyWals@guillewaitzel this is how scroll views work with safe area. they never clip to safe area, but they ensure you can scroll any element fully into the safe area
this is the same behavior you get vertically. i agree it does look kinda bad here tho
@jek747@LinusMixson step back, consider what you’re optimizing for, and whether jev happens to optimize for that. i’m suspicious it’s just a way to hand waive away the thinking about the objective
@JebsSteve0x1@VictorTaelin if i were maintaining the language, i would feel better knowing that the foundation is some trusted compiler
if you bootstrap, you turn your project into a stateful system, dependent on the behavior each previous version to understand the behavior of the current
@JebsSteve0x1@VictorTaelin there is danger in bootstrapping tho! you cannot reason about correctness of current compiler without trusting all prior versions!
if bend is written in a trusted language, then i can read the source & decide if i trust bend
if bend is written in bend, i must trust the binary!!
