I got a confession to make: I read AI slop and routinely learn something new from it. That extends to AI slop blog posts oddly. Sometimes good AI slop is better than not sharing things.
@jackdied I'm generally a fan of Stross but I wasn't aware of Glasshouse. I couldn't really get into his horror stuff so I ended up taking a detour around a lot of his work.
Have you read Daemon/Freedom (tm) by Suarez?
@jackdied Reminds me of that 4am call I got to our emergency line (which paged techs until answered): "Your network is attacking my network on port 123." "You have configured our public NTP server and your network is requesting the time and then freaking out when we reply."
TL;DR: Spammer sends message with envelope [email protected], [email protected]. https://t.co/6Gxqh7hMc0 MX accepts message, forwards it to another MX which bounces it due to NoSuchUser. Message including original content is accepted by https://t.co/e9D7W4rcXV
#google: How do I report e-mail from https://t.co/6Gxqh7ik1y? The MX is set up in a way that has been allowing spammers to relay mail through it via SMTP bounces (sending to invalid https://t.co/6Gxqh7ik1y addresses). I have receipts.
I didn't have high expectations for Spinal Tap II, but we just went to see it and all really, REALLY, enjoyed it. Also, I didn't expect to get much out of seeing it in IMAX, but I'd highly recommend it if you can.
Our Python doc is officially out in the wild! 🐍
Thanks to everyone who joined the premiere 🙌 such a good vibe.
Here’s the link so you can watch it on repeat: https://t.co/4nqyicYxpF
@kennethreitz42 TBF, the documentary is heavily slanted towards the early folks, ZopeCorp and earlier, and it was missing a lot of people from that era, and definitely beyond. It was fairly narrow in scope.
I love that Claude Code just dumped me out a trim comparison HTML page (even interactive!) for the Ioniq 9 scraped from the configurator. Shit like this is just so useful and cool.
Claude Code 1.0.86 has a new /context command to visualize your context window and token usage
It doesn't seem to be accurate yet compared to the auto-compact notice, ccusage, or my status line, but it also shows MCP tool use and CLAUDE.md memory files so could be v useful!
@paulweveritt@tsubasaetkisi One of my coworkers has been using Junie for a couple months and has been really happy with it, particularly at the $10/mo price point. (Being in Ops, I tend towards the terminal-based tools. ;-)
@kennethreitz42 ... "I don't think I need to sign that." "Oh, it's just to say that I looked at your roof." "No, I think I'm ok." "Is it because of this?" he turns the paper over and theres tiny print all over the back, including "I commit to using this company".
@kennethreitz42 NEVER sign anything you don't have to. A guy was wandering around in our neighborhood after a hail storm: "Want me to get on your roof and see if it might qualify for insurance?" After he does that he tries to get me to sign a paper on his clipboard. ...
