Our male tamandua, Ernie, has set off to a new home at another AZA facility by recommendation of the SSP.

Ernie arrived at the Phoenix Zoo in 2024 and quickly stole the hearts of his keepers. They enjoyed working with him and are happy to see he's going on to help the species.

The Zoo provides a multitude of ways for animals to cool down in the heat, including ice treats, misters, shade structures, water sources, showers and more! However, Jojo, the Komodo dragon, THRIVES in the heat and feels best at a cool 95 degrees 🥵

The vulture chick is growing up fast and he'll be out of the nest before you know it. You can see him and the rest of these vultures on Predator Passage across from the lions and leopard!
