Thinking of Daunte Wright's family. Thinking of the greater Minneapolis community. Thinking of all the Black folks who wake up to this news again and again and again and again and again. Thinking of the toll is takes on your body, the air it pulls from your lungs. Every time.
Where there is no justice, there is alienation and mistrust. It is an endless cycle. The system is not just broken, it was designed this way. We have to reimagine policing and redesign a system that can truly provide equal justice under the law. #JusticeForBreonna
I'm thinking of all the ppl who knew Breonna Taylor before she became hashtag. The people who raised her, the people who held her, the people who laughed with her, the people who cried with her, the people who dreamed with her. They didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve this.
Rayshard Brooks wasn’t stumbling, didn’t crash into parked cars, offered to walk home, he ended up dead. The white man crashed into parked cars, stumbling around, is so drunk he’s laying on the sidewalk. They let him leave with his life & no ticket System is fair & equal tho, FOH
I commend the players on the @Bucks for standing up for what they believe in, coaches like @DocRivers, and the @NBA and @WNBA for setting an example. It’s going to take all our institutions to stand up for our values.
