A doula, whether in a hospital or out, drastically reduces the possibility of a C-section. Mostly bc they know lots of ways to manage pain and also how to help labor progress if it's stalled -- two of the main reasons C-sections are recommended.

I'm (re)learning that life with an infant means you can only do things in 15-minute bursts.

So you memorize the things you can do in 15 minutes: shower, make (but not drink) coffee, move laundry to the dryer, etc.

It's fun to see which you'll choose next.
