It was that too, the children of two slaves was a slave. But this didn’t matter so much as the majority were female and wisely married free men.

@maxdubler Bad example because selling handbags requires renting a store or a warehouse and if you fail to sell and handbags in July and August that money is gone forever.

Likewise when a landlord fails to rent a property, they still own it.
