There's a dire shortage of nurses causing a collapse of the healthcare system. Nursing school should be free.
Doug Ford: makes tuition free for new police recruits.
Last I heard, we have a shortage of nurses, not police officers. Priorities, huh? #onpoli
Thirty-seven years ago today, Tommy Douglas passed away.
I am asking you to share this message, to remind Doug Ford that he was voted the Greatest Canadian because he spent his life fighting for publicly-funded, publicly-delivered health care.
Let’s honour Tommy’s legacy.
Doug Ford looks into the camera and says, “you’ll pay for your healthcare with your OHIP card, not your credit card,” much the same way he said, “we heard you loud and clear - we will not touch the Greenbelt.”
#onpoli
This is the PC strategy – starve the public system of funding, demoralize nursing and personal support staff with the wage-suppressing Bill 124, watch wait times increase to record levels and sooner or later private delivery will look like a better option.
Ford is ramming this bill through without responsible, democratic public input. Municipal govts are rightfully concerned that Ford’s housing bill will lead to significant property tax increases and undermine municipal investments in affordable housing. It’s so wrong. #onpoli
This is a massive multi billion dollar gift to a developer at the expense of the people of Ontario...to enable sprawl in the Greenbelt near Rouge National Park. #HandsOffTheGreenbelt#StopBill23
I’m going to say it: I like paying taxes in exchange for a properly managed health care and education system and other government services. I don’t want money back, I want ambulances to come on time.
So let me get this straight: Ontario's healthcare system is collapsing. Working conditions are so bad that health workers are already quitting en masse. And now...the Ontario government is looking to CUT costs...in healthcare staffing?
How does this make any sense?
There is no Loblaws, no profits, and no growth without workers.
Loblaws has made $1 million in excess profits PER DAY in 2022 so far.
So pay your workers what they're owed. Quit the union-busting and show them some respect.
You can't talk about inflation without mentioning that corporate profits are the highest we've seen in 70 years.
CEOs and corporations are fuelling inflation and pocketing record profits — while you struggle to pay your bills.
Greedflation - that's the problem.
If you believed that the best deals are reached at the table, you wouldn’t have voted for legislation that strips workers of their right to collectively bargain. You actually stood up and clapped when it was passed.
If you’ve never had to watch a child struggle to breathe then you may not fully understand why the lack of hospital care, fever reducers and antibiotics for children is a big deal.
Trust me-it’s a very big deal.
Parents and caregivers of littles-we need to get LOUD.
Goodmorning Ontario,
This medicine unit only has TWO NURSES for TWENTY-SEVEN patients.
The 2 nurses are scared to assume responsibility for all 27 patients. The night nurses are yet to go home. The students are afraid & unsure of their learning.
This is dangerous @fordnation
Serious question - if top doctors are urging the government to #BringBackMasks in schools as sick children swamp hospitals, what on earth is the government waiting for? #onpoli
So let me see if I’ve got this right… The Ontario govt didn’t start negotiations with @osbcucscso at the earliest possible dates, @Sflecce has been “negotiating” through media statements that are highly critical of education workers & hasn’t demonstrated good faith bargaining 1/
