Breaking News: China is contemplating significant reforms in its mutual fund industry, valued at approximately 33 trillion yuan ($4.6 trillion). The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has proposed that fund managers who underperform their benchmarks could face salary reductions of up to 50%. Specifically, managers whose funds incur losses or underperform their benchmarks by 10% may be subjected to these pay cuts.
This initiative aligns with China’s broader “common prosperity” campaign, which aims to address income inequality and promote equitable wealth distribution. As part of this drive, several state-backed financial institutions have already implemented annual salary caps for their senior executives. For instance, China Merchants Fund Management and Bosera Asset Management have capped annual incomes at 3 million yuan and 2.9 million yuan, respectively, and have requested employees to return any excess pay received in previous years.
Additionally, China has imposed a 1 million yuan ($137,309) annual income cap on employees at central government-owned financial institutions. This measure primarily affects middle and senior managers, with reductions in bonuses being a key component of the pay cuts.
These reforms reflect the government’s efforts to promote fairness and accountability within the financial sector, ensuring that compensation is closely tied to performance and that excessive incomes are curtailed.
My friend Suhas donated Rs.5000 to PM/ CM Relief Fund.
On the other hand, I bought two bottles whisky worth Rs 5000/-.
The question is who contributed more to the growth of our country ?
01. On the Rs 5000 Suhas donated, he got a 30% tax rebate. Therefore, he actually landed up earning back Rs 1500/-. In other words, by donating Rs 5000 he made a net contribution of just Rs 3500/- to the country.
02. On Alcohol, the total taxes (excise and GST) added up to approximately 72% of the MRP. So when I paid Rs 5000,/-, Rs 3600/- went to the state exchequer... Against 3500 rs from Suhas
...and 48 pegs of pleasure from two bottles 750 ml whisky bottle 🍷🍷. And the tandoori chicken , peanuts, soda and other bites he consumed worth Rs 5000 along with whisky contributed about 1000 Rs more to government. That makes it 4600 vs 3500.
Therefore, not only did I contribute more, I created jobs at the Distillery, their suppliers of labels, bottles, caps, machinery , Poultry farms , Snack companies, jobs at the Marketing Company, jobs at the Wine Shop , Retail shops selling chicken, snacks and moreover I was in high spirits doing so,
.... while Suhas doesn't even know where his money went !!
Think of it...
Next time, Buy a Bottle of Whisky ‘you’ serve your Nation !!!
Be a responsible citizen!! Have a lovely day and also be in high spirits !!!🥃🥂

Greatest respect for ace lawyer Cyril Shroff but his daughter is married to Gautam Adani’s son. Shroff serves on SEBI’s Committee on Corporate Governance & Insider Trading. If at all @SEBI_India is examining Adani issue, Shroff should recuse himself.
Perceptions are Reality.
@TheMFGuy1 Atleast they should prolong the category of mid cap selection criteria of Market cap form 101 to 250 companies to go further. Its too narrow range for out perform.@SEBI_India
