Let's be clear. The Communist Control Act is still on the books although it is essentially a dead letter at this point. But there was a time such things were taken seriously and actually enforced by our security agencies. And so they should again.
The DSA is a Marxist revolutionary organization and should be disqualified from office in the United States, full stop. Any question about what they believe and what their goals are can be cleared up with their own words about the destruction of the West and America, not to mention their utterly insane social theories. People need to take this very seriously. Go watch some videos from the DSA conventions over the past couple of years. It's actually shocking that these lunatics are now steering a major party in the United States.
I really recommend everyone follow Stu Smith of the Manhattan Institute (@thestustustudio), nobody has chronicled and archived the DSA better. It's all there. And it's insane.
Darializa herself should not be seated in the House because of her own personal support for the destruction of the West and this country. Speaker Johnson should take up the issue based on grave concerns regarding her potential fidelity to to the oath of office. I've said this multiple times now.
There is a real question on the table here -- does the oath of office actually mean something, or is it just boilerplate? If the oath is a meaningful component of qualifying for elected office, then it's very difficult to see how any DSA member can hold office in good faith.
It's really that simple. And it needs to be litigated sooner rather than later.
Once again -- the Constitution is not a suicide pact. We are under no obligation to enable revolutionaries who openly hate our nation and welcome them into our government as valid good-faith political actors.
To the contrary; a functional society has every obligation to stop them before they gain power.
Marxist revolutions only end one way. And we have a very limited window to stop them.
@JoelWBerry And he already announced they will siege properties that aren’t up to their standards. Now they make it economically impossible to keep up with standards (rents adjust with inflation and upkeep costs). It’s only a matter of time
Today should be remembered as a Red Letter day, marking the advance of Socialism on our coasts. You can count on it to hurt people.
NYC passed a rent freeze. CA put a seizure of billionaire wealth on the ballot.
Mark my word - both will do huge harm and be rescinded, years too late.
There is a reason history matters.
Lenin didn’t take over Russia overnight. He first took over his party.
He energized young activists. He attacked moderates in his own movement as sellouts. He demanded ideological purity. He promised free everything, demonized business, divided society into oppressors and oppressed, and insisted the existing system was beyond reform, it had to be fundamentally transformed.
Sound familiar?
Today, @ZohranKMamdani and the @DemSocialists aren’t trying to win over the Democratic Party, they’re trying to replace it. Primary by primary, incumbent by incumbent, they’re pulling the party further toward government control, wealth redistribution, and anti-capitalist policies.
History doesn’t repeat itself exactly, but it often rhymes.
Every New Yorker who believes in free enterprise, public safety, fiscal responsibility, and the American Dream should be paying attention.
Political movements don’t transform institutions overnight. They do it one election at a time.
If you think for one second a “wealth tax” will only be for 9-figure net worth folks you are insane.
Just wait until you have a $25k tax bill on your modest $1 million brokerage account you saved your entire career for.
This sort of rhetoric should terrify EVERYONE.
