Thoughts from France 🇫🇷
- I WON!!! Haha Idk where to begin. All golfers dream about making the last putt to win a tournament and giving that big fist pump. Truly amazing that i was able to live out that dream. I’m also super proud of how I handled myself on Sunday. I told myself going into Sunday that I’m going for the win and not a top finish and it wasn’t perfect but I got the job done!
-Recap of 18: It was a good number for my 6i. I kinda bailed trying to make sure I didn’t hit it in the water knowing the bunker shot wouldn’t be too difficult. I had a good lie, and I had hit every putt on 18 way past the hole earlier in the week. I hit a bunker shot that I wanted to but it really didn’t run out as much as I thought. Elvis from a different angle gave me a slight read at the end of the putt. It looked pretty straight but knew it would tail off right at the end. I hit the putt the way I wanted, stayed super straight in the middle and caught the right lip to go in the hole!
-The putt on 18 was great but I might take more confidence in how I played 17. I was nervous cuz that’s when I really started to feel like I have a great chance at winning and I stepped up and totally executed my shots. The way I hit the 2nd shot (PW) to 7 ft, and absolutely buried the putt dead center, I’ll remember for a really long time.
-I hit it really bad at Wentworth the week before but worked on it Monday Tuesday, and for whatever reason it started feeling better Tuesday. I didn’t work on anything too different, just messed around with some feels to try and get the swing where I wanted. It felt better as the week went along.
-I don’t keep the big French Open trophy and they give me this cool plate instead. Honestly fine by me, that thing is like 40lbs and idk how I could travel with it.
