Today we met as a group for the Final Project and talked about how we’re going to incorporate our own SmartWalks idea into what’s already been established. #EDUC200#01FA22
@AnnaJamesa01@LaubscherEden@Macie_Nash_@JordanTate530@paytonduke25 This is a great definition of Multicultural Education, and I think it's especially important for students to understand why hands-on action that you'd see with a Social Action Approach is so important. If the future generation remains silent, nothing will change. #EDUC200#01FA22
Today we talked about privilege and how it affects those around us (in nature). In our small group, we talked about the Birdwatching article and how, for several of us, it really opened our eyes even more about how controversial the system in the US really is. #EDUC200#01FA22
@Laurenn_walker I think this is a great example of a Progressivist learning setting because the students are clearly working with each other for a common goal. The teacher is also most likely letting them think for themselves—another quality of a Progressivist classroom.

@AbigiaMulugeta I think this is definitely a good example of a Social Reconstructionism classroom—it emphasizes anti-racism as the focal and directional point of discussion, and learning about this can be steps to encouraging students to reshape society for the better.

Here’s an example of a doorframe that might be in an Existentialist classroom. It’s emphasizing what the STUDENTS specifically want for their future, as well as allowing them to observe their peers’ interests to generate more curiosity.

Unreality: “Not until the mid-twentieth century would many Jim Crow laws be overturned in state and federal courts.”
This dismisses the fact that there are still Jim Crow laws intact in many southern U.S. states today (i.e. early voting restrictions, etc.)

@kaitlin__arnold I definitely see Dependability being mentioned as well, specifically when the author mentions psychologists having to work closely with district leadership. The psychologists should be able to rely on district leadership for funding for appropriate resources.

@HaleySmiley79 I can certainly see Meaning being tied into Ortega's business - one thing I observed was her resolute determination to give customers "the comforting taste of home." This proves that she's doing it because she loves it & wants to spread her culture to the world.

This article talks about how psychological safety has increased for at-home/remote workers. While it may put a greater responsibility on leaders to check in with virtual employees, that's part of the job - being a solid support system.

There tends to be an imbalance in funding allocations between HS athletics programs VS academic programs. Football teams, for example, may tend to get more *unnecessary* funding than a chemistry lab that may need important resources for a lab, for example.
