Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Spielberg wanted a James Bond style opening for his first Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) adventure. What we get are booby traps, backstabbing, poison darts, golden idols, and a giant rolling stone ball. As opening scenes go, this is the gold standard
Beck - Odelay (1996)
An ingenious fusion of country, blues, rap and oddball sampledelia, delivered with deadpan cool. Tongue-in-cheek, eclectic and full of personality; a genre unto itself.
Showing a post-Cobain America how to lighten up again; and making it look effortless

@krassenstein The crazy narcissist lane is already full this cycle…but it would be interesting to see if his schtick would work if Trump wasn’t already there…
@TenthAvenueAmy Indians could be a problem…as for the Guardians…when we lived in Cleveland I got all of the games, football, baseball, basketball, and all the college games…
@TenthAvenueAmy I cut the cable 7 years ago and went with Hulu live…best move ever (just look to possibly upgrade your internet if you go 100% streaming)
@TenthAvenueAmy Maddie ordered the Grimace value meal a week or so ago and decided that she didn’t like the shake…so in self defense…I had to finish it…it’s a vanilla shake with Blue Berries in it (so a blueberry vanilla shake) it’s pretty good.
@Super70sSports …That and ending an argument in the car by slamming the car into park with a gear shift on the steering column…no better way to declare victory….
