@Stretchedwiener@Angaisb_ The accuracy of replication from memory is a benchmark of its own. And it’s not like the model had access to raw source code of minecraft.
@jj_shabadoo@_jacht_@interesting_aIl I really doubt if they will succeed. Ultimately they need the majority to not want it. So far what I’ve seen was the loud minority crying.
@NousResearch Can I have two instances of it, one Hermes Desktop on PC and other one regular Hermes on VPS, just synced bidirectionally (settings, presets etc)?
@StorgaardMikkel@GyattR13214@teletonic@karchn12@edzitron Worse? Even assuming you are right about quality, the large time savings offset any possible lack of quality. Getting 90% of quality at ~1% of the time is what I personally would call a good deal.
@teletonic@karchn12@StorgaardMikkel@edzitron Depends what costlier means really. I own a PC with RTX 5090 that cost me roughly 10000 dollars. I can run capable enough models, and now every token past the entry cost is essentially free for me. With dedicated AI computers it’s probably cheaper.
@teletonic@karchn12@StorgaardMikkel@edzitron Local models aren’t as good as cloud SOTA but are in general way more compute efficient, so not really. Like if anthropic was serving Qwen 3.6 27B size model, this news wouldn’t be a thing.
@Blank100k@a_dumnov@Grafclown001@animetrends It's not about full replacement, but the drastic reduction of workforce. Of course even if a shoe factory opens, you'll still have one guy manually making shoes, but the 9 other guys will have to change jobs.
@zectrillionaire@ordinarytings Especially when you look at the house and notice it's not a particularly expensive one. If they were wise and instead invested in a mansion and stocks, that'd be something to be jealous of. Traveling in economy to some random countries is really 100IQ behavior.
@BellV22_Osprey@_makise_pudding@raven_brah If remembering is the goal, someone like Stalin beats you by order of magnitude, even if he had no children. Shouldn’t you try to be more like Stalin then?
@oatmealjan@verybiglyonline@raven_brah@DrutangReborn I’d say that’s a stretch to call it immortalisation. Sure, for first generation they are basically "immortal", but the immortality drops to 0 over few next generations.
@trophychornaqvi@AQkkak@Dexerto How do you know what the guy you are replying to makes? You don’t need to project your own bad financial situation onto others.
