@JT_Great21@ontologicalblob@ErickYbarra3 If Ybarra is a Roman Catholic he is definitionally beholden to communion with those who venerate nestorious and those who use his anaphora.
Being in communion with heretics is to be one yourself.
@ZealousSeraphim The issue is that according to IQ research there is no job someone with an IQ below 80 is capable of performing. What do you do with millions of people who fit that criteria?
@gwyrain@THEORTHOCHAT The fathers don’t allow an evolutionary view of genesis. We follow the fathers. You can’t hold to evolution and be orthodox. Go read Fr Seraphim “on creation, genesis, and early man.”
@ChrisWind2@UnseenPathways One more for good measure, bc i just prayed it and it came to mind lol,
Evening prayers:
"My hope is the Father, my refuge the Son, my shelter the Holy Spirit, All Holy Trinity Glory to Thee"
*literally the next prayer*: "In thee oh Mother of God do i place all my hope"
@Redivivus144@ReaderJustus@GongaHulga@LostMyHats No, they don't. Jerusalem 1672 explicitly states that christ exists only in the orthodox church. Non-chalcedonians, Papists, Protestants, Nestorians, etc do not have the eucharist.
@ChrisWind2@UnseenPathways Also see the common protestant dichotomy of faith vs works. When in reality faith is that which is working in love as Paul says. It's not that we're saved by either faith or works, it's that we're saved by grace through faith working in love.
@ChrisWind2@UnseenPathways Big one is when someone says to jesus "blessed is the one who nursed you" christ responds "blessed rather are those who do the will of God". It's not deminishing Mary, she also did the will of God better than anyone else. Both/And. Not either/or.
@Nicholai_Korea Fr. David is wonderful, we also have multiple retired priests attached to our altar and Fr. Andrew of ancient faith will be attached to our altar next year. We’re also starting a mission.
Glory to God.
Have you read Augustine’s confessions where he explicitly states that the Glory of God, since it is not the essence, is therefore a creature?
This means in Leviticus when the Glory of God is worshipped, it is the worship of a created thing.
You can plainly see Augustine wrestle with this in confessions. Go read it.
It’s the natural result of the failure to distinguish God’s essence from his energies.
