What you are really selling is yourself. I heard a guy say that - and I get what he was trying to say. Closing the deal really means that I've gained someone's trust. They're convinced that I can really help them, that I'll do honest work and that I'm in it for the long haul. Translation: do sales is showing "you can trust me."

If you compare our current age to any previous one 200+ years ago, we are already living in "amazing abundance" and we still have more than enough problems and suffering to deal with, so this is not as optimistic as it seems

@kurtinc I think most of the time AI doesn't "send" anyone to your site. It recommends your brand as a potential customer is doing product research and then they eventually make a purchase X days later. This looks organic but was AI-influenced. Happens all the time!

Shipped some sentiment analysis this week - understand how AI describes your brand. There's got to be better way to present this data, to make it more readable and actionable, balancing quantitative and qualitative. Still exploring that.

According to ChatGPT, that means the annualized growth rate is 32,000,000,000% - that's pretty darn good. Always trust AI.

Despite this incredible growth, projected ARR remains at $0 because its a free app 😜

A couple things still cooking: a Shopify app, and a small business website generator. Two crowded spaces but that means there's opportunity. Trying to turn them into real businesses, grinding in a way that fits my lifestyle.

On the Shopify app front, had an awesome in-real-life meeting with a niche brand last week. He's #1 for mentions in his niche on Gemini, but not yet ChatGPT. I'll spend the next month trying to get him the #1 spot on ChatGPT using the Shopify app. More updates to come...

This has been a couple months in the making: it's time to sunset https://t.co/1z75tEviCf.

There's a few reasons for this:
- devs don't want to pay for tools, so very hard market to sell to
- PostHog and others are shipping like crazy in this space

When I started sessionvision, AI had just started to touch product analytics. I thought that product analytics could be much more proactive, much more intelligent, and that humans needn't configure dashboards to try to understand how user's are interacting with their software.

All this remains true. But so much has changed in just a few months.

I saw where the hockey puck was going and tried to skate there, but PostHog skated there much faster with millions of dollars in funding, amazing brand recognition, and established distribution (duh!)

And, with a small network in the devtool space, you either need to create elite tooling, or have the time to educate the market and grow credibility. I don't really have either.

Because no software engineer enjoys paying for even the best tooling (myself included) - and would rather just use (and contribute to) open source.

I think there's a small niche still here in product analytics to be played, so I am exploring that. I'll be sharing more in the coming weeks about trying to make what I've done open source so that others can use what's been built and make it their own if they want.
