Things you can do while social distancing:
- Self-reflect
- Keep a journal
- Study the wallpaper
- Creep around
- Inch ever closer to madness due to the oppressive nature of 19th-century gender roles
Spent a lovely Saturday at @camraleigh for the NC Book Festival supporting local authors, publishers, and poets! Even came home with a couple new books thanks to @wctracy & @DukePress!
@EJCrowe2@mssakshinarula@SeanCRHill You can DO that?

Or rather, tell my cat to stop eating my succulents, that would probably help π€£
@MemoirsYoung I still refuse to let my family read my writing because I'm convinced if an editor/publisher doesn't think it's good enough, then I don't want to waste their time, lol.
But I guess nothing is perfect. "Good enough" will have to do. π€£
I know it's time and skill, but it *feels* like sorcery or something takes place between one editing pass and another. Anyone else feel like this?

One of the things I both love and hate about writing is that moment where things start to make sense. Like, you agonize over these words for hours, pouring all your love and care into them, and they look awful... until they don't.
The Academy of American Poets said that it would be able to fund its poet laureate program for the next 3 years with a $4.5 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation https://t.co/7mOMibOh6W
@PFDonato I would like to be a novelist, but for now my word count usually comes in right over novella. Sometimes I write short stories, too! But 99% of the time, I write fiction!
