.@ChrisCillizza was back on the show to discuss Trump’s escalating fight with Canada, the treatment of US sailors and Stars and Stripes journalists, the mounting cost of the Iran war and why it could all spell trouble ahead of the midterms.

Russia now partnered with Silicon Valley giant Meta in recruiting men from Cambodia and Indonesia for their war in Ukraine.

I am grateful to the European Union and to every European leader for adopting the 21st sanctions package against Russia. It is very important that pressure on Russia over the war it started – and refuses to end – continues. This package includes strong measures to curb Russia's revenues, including Ukrainian proposals that have been taken into account. It is crucial to preserve our unity and keep up this pressure. We expect work on the 22nd sanctions package to move forward actively and hope it will deliver additional restrictions that will advance peace and further limit Russia's ability to sustain its war. Thank you, European Union!
No, this isn’t a photo of the Wildberries warehouse in Moscow from last week. It’s a photo of the Wildberries warehouse in Krasnodar from today.
To the question, “But why are the Ukrainians attacking civilian targets?” the answer is as follows:
Wildberries is a kind of Amazon. It has massive warehouses where goods from China arrive and are resold by russian merchants. Those goods are also dual-use goods. “Dual-use” is the term for civilian products that can be used for military purposes.
DJI drones, for example, are dual-use products because they can be used to film a wedding or to surveil enemy trench positions. Wildberries’ warehouses serve as the gateway for dual-use products worth billions of dollars used by the russian military. From thermal cameras to controllers, 3D printers, components, or entire drones, and much, much more. This is the main reason.
The secondary reason, publicly stated by the operations coordinator Robert Magyar himself, is to send the message that the war has returned home to russia.
“Well then, in Ukraine too, the Nova Poshta or Epicenter warehouses—or others—are legitimate targets for the russians, aren’t they?”
No. Nothing in Ukraine is a legitimate target for the russians. Ukraine is attacking these warehouses, just as it attacks russia’s commercial ships in the Shadow Fleet, and just as it attacks military targets—because it has been attacked. Ukraine’s strikes are acts of self-defense. russia’s strikes are violations of all international norms, as this is an illegitimate, unprovoked, illegal, and immoral war.
Slava Ukraini!
If your definition of anti-colonialism stops where Russian expansionism begins, you are not opposing imperialism. You are just hating the West.
Anti-colonialists should not give Moscow a free pass, but far too many do. Because Russia built its empire across land borders rather than oceans, millions of people ignore one of the most brutal colonial projects in world history.
Selective anti-colonialism is one of the greatest intellectual failures of modern political debate. Too many commentators remain blind to Russian imperialism, treating colonialism as if it were strictly a Western enterprise carried out against the Global South.
Why does this double standard exist?
First, it is a hangover from the Cold War, when Western leftists idealized the USSR as an anti-capitalist counterweight, ignoring its imperial subjugation of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Second, modern "campism" leads people to believe that the enemy of the West must be a friend of liberation. This reflexive anti-Americanism causes observers to deliberately ignore Russian and Chinese aggression. Finally, Moscow actively fuels this blindness by funding populist movements on both the far left and far right, buying political silence and echoing anti-Western rhetoric.
The historical facts of Russian colonialism are undeniable. Moscow built its empire through land conquest, robbing neighboring republics of their resources, deporting indigenous populations, and murdering millions through manufactured starvations like the Holodomor (and in other ways too). Non-Russian cultures were systematically suppressed through forced Russification and political purges.
That same colonial impulse drives Russia today. In Ukraine, Moscow is attempting a classic war of colonial re-conquest, stealing land and attempting to erase local identity. In Africa, Russia uses mercenaries and political interference to extract mineral wealth and prop up autocratic regimes, wrapping its neo-colonial resource grab in anti-Western slogans.
If your anti-imperialism ignores Russian colonialism, it is not anti-imperialism at all. It is merely partisan bias.
True anti-colonialism opposes imperial conquest everywhere, not just when the aggressor speaks English
The Russian economic collapse keeps accelerating:
🔹Banks have requested 2 trillion rubles due to massive cash withdrawals
🔹The fuel crisis will likely cause the key interest rate to rise
🔹But raising the key rate will make many companies go bankrupt in a few months

India picking up the slack left by China's lowered purchases of Russian oil, ramping up efforts to support Putin's mass murder in Ukraine.
Another reason that India is a filthy pit of shit in which 90% of the countty lives like Russians, along side sewage, disease and savagery.
