I manage pretty well during work presentations and I make up stuff with words for a living and I do improv for fun, but when I’m out in public and someone nonchalantly asks me how I’m doing, I freeze up and forget everything my tutor taught me when I came to the US.
I have a bad habit of caring so much about how to show certain people I care for them that I ultimately become incapable of interacting with them at all. Don’t tell me this tweet doesn’t make sense because it’s not supposed to.
@Gburned I feel similarly, but it’s my unrealistic and kind of self-destructive need to produce jaw-dropping, emotionally resonant, topically relevant, Emmy-worthy commercial scripts every single time that keeps me from actually writing.
