Depressing to once again report that bird populations continue to plummet. We are seeing some species slide towards extinction in the UK- something has to give

Anna Vorenkamp just started PhD on bar-tailed #godwits in #WaddenSea with @RoelandBom at @NIOZwdrc. Her work is part of #WAAKVOGELS project @Waddenfonds with fieldwork on #Griend. Today she met a male ringed 26 years ago at Schiermonnikoog, Anne being at least 2 years younger!
New Ringing Report from @_BTO has updated longevity record for Black-tailed Godwit 👇
Lower age than other big #waders but increasing, thanks to sightings of a colour-ringed bird at @RSPBFrampton@WWTWelney#RSPBSnettisham etc.
