@Strickomaster leadership, being an actual leader outside of education prior to joining teaching, was far better prep for headship than sitting in a room doing an NPQ has ever been. Also, I did that and then also “served the time” before school leadership.
@Strickomaster Good point. Can’t say I disagree with this - is it really that common by the way, I don’t get the feeling it is but I’m just coming at this from a Primary perspective, not in the loop with Secondary. What I was trying to say, is that I have found that in terms of preparation fo
@Strickomaster 100% agree on this - but I don’t see why someone with a bank of other sector experience couldn’t make that progression quicker than you’ve suggested. I’m not suggesting you’re not correct in leadership having credibility, just intrigued why the 5/6 year time seems to be an issue?
@Strickomaster Really? Leadership is leadership surely? How different is leading a team in a school to leading a team in a business? Customers, staff, stakeholders- from my experience, stepping out of education to experience life outside of the “institution” can be a huge asset.
@Strickomaster What was your experience prior to education? I’m more concerned about the lack of experience outside of education that the vast amount of senior leaders have?
Hi @mk_marathon - I’m unable to get to the MK runner to collect my race number this week - what time will the desk be open on race day to collect, I can’t seem to find this in the marathon guide? Thanks
@MissL_Y6 Got to agree with the “on the floor” crew...
You do end up with another issue though...
kicking the bloody things over (and half of the time it’s me!!) 😡🤣🙈 watch out for the metal ones- weigh a tonne!!!!
@brassoteach For what it’s worth, I think it depends on the pace that you run... I tend to go to 24 miles in a marathon build but would run that in around 2:50-55, regardless of distance, if you go over 3 hours in training you’re seriously fatigued and don’t get any real training benefit...👍🏻
@GoCiaran@TeamTotal_ATH What impact do you feel the spikes have on that, is it the same type of thing with pulling up better after using the Vaporfly? Cheers
